Oren grew up in Providence, Rhode Island and attended nearby Brown University where he graduated in 2023 with a degree in Chemical Biology. After graduation, he made the cross country trip to work under Jeffery Kelly at Scripps Research studying small molecule stabilizers of misfolding-prone proteins and for a much-needed change of scenery from the cold of New England to the warmth of California. He then started in the MD-PhD program at Stanford in fall of 2025 hoping to move towards synthetic biology. Outside of class and lab, you can find him outside trying new running trails, being active, skiing with family, and spending time with friends
